🌱 Migurinth

Latest Release Commit Activity Last Commit

Migurinth is an independent fork of the original Modrinth App, offering a cleaner, privacy-focused experience by removing telemetry and ads, while providing full offline/cracked account support. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Modrinth.

⚠️ Important Notice - Project Status

📢 MiguRinth is currently in maintenance mode with limited updates (~once per month, sometimes more or less).

After extensive experience maintaining this fork and learning about the internal issues within Modrinth App's codebase, we now recommend alternative launchers that offer better stability, architecture, and development practices:

  • Prism Launcher - Lightweight, stable, and highly efficient
  • Pandora Launcher - WIP, follow the best practices, learn about what other projects have done wrong and made by a dev who really knows what hes doing (Axiom DEV)
  • AstralRinth - Modrinth fork, same as migurinth but with also elyby support and not in maintenance mode.

📦 Portable Mode

Both Prism Launcher and Pandora Launcher (and their forks) include native portable mode support with much more organized and professional development practices than Modrinth App.

🚫 Feature Requests Policy

Issues requesting new features or improvements will NOT be implemented. Here's why:

  • The Modrinth development team has demonstrated zero collaboration when it comes to accepting or implementing new features from the community
  • Their "if it works, don't touch it" philosophy has resulted in poorly structured code and architectural limitations that prevent meaningful improvements
  • The codebase has significant technical debt with outdated/obsolete libraries that cause frequent issues
  • Every change we make risks breaking something else due to the fragile codebase structure

We believe in transparency: Modrinth's infrastructure for hosting mods and modpacks is excellent, but the launcher itself has not been properly rewritten since its creation and the team has not prioritized fixing fundamental architectural problems.

💙 Thank You to Our Users

We are incredibly grateful for the support all our users have given us throughout this journey. We apologize that we have to maintain this limited update schedule, but the reality is that Modrinth App's codebase makes it extremely difficult to implement changes without causing breakage.

If you're a current MiguRinth user, we encourage you to explore the alternatives mentioned above for a more stable, feature-rich experience with better long-term support.
